Through various examples this week regarding the difference between the poverty spirit and the poor in spirit I felt the Lord lead me into this on the Provision and the Promises of God. I’d taken the name for granted, the Name of Jehovah-Jireh… (or Yehovah Yireh)….I took it for granted because of the song.
“Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider, His grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me… Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider, His grace is sufficient for me… My God shall supply all my needs, according to His riches in glory, He will give His angels charge over me, Jehovah Jireh cares for me, for me, for me…Jehovah-Jireh cares for me..” “And His name is The-Lord-Will-Provide”…(Gen 22:14)
Jehovah is “The Lord” and Jireh is “Will Provide”… yet the Strong’s concordance barely mentioned the word “provide.”
It said “The Lord will see to it”
The literal Hebrew is “The-Lord-Will-See-To-It”….
It wasn’t just a promise.
It was His name! “The-Lord-Will-See-To-It” He introduced Himself by that name on MT Moriah. Here is where Abraham was told by the Lord that he was to sacrifice his only son as a burnt offering. I know you know the story. But the interesting thing is… Moriah actually means in Hebrew “Seen by Jehovah”… raw-aw’ H7200 yeh-ho-vaw’ yir-eh’ H3070 (Jehovah Jireh- The Lord will Provide- from Gen 22:14) And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the LORD (Gen 22:16) And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
Our God took Abraham upon a mountain where it is called “Seen by God”…
We have situations that are as mountains, but these mountains that stand before us are SEEN BY GOD…. and the Lord even says that upon this mountain, upon this BIG MOUNTAIN that we are standing upon and that we face, upon this BIG MOUNTAIN OF GREAT SACRIFICE, He has introduced Himself as The-Lord-Will- SEE-To-It… How will He see to it? He says that it is by Himself He swears, takes an oath, promises, to see to it. Hebrews tells us that people swear by something greater than themselves… “God as my witness”
“I swear upon the sluggard” “I swear upon hell” “I swear to Satan”.. Since God’s promises cannot be dependent upon Him swearing upon anything lower than Himself, His covenant with Abraham was not made with Abraham, but rather Himself, for it was HE that appeared as the smoking furnace and the burning lamp and walked among the heifer, the ram, the pigeon, the dove, and the goat. He Himself swore by Himself because there was none greater than Himself to swear upon. That means that when He promises something to us, He will see to it that it is performed. When He promises something to us, we can guarantee it will happen. He sees our mountain, He also sees to our Provision.
He has sworn by Himself. We are an heir to that promise. He cannot and will not fail us. By Myself I have sworn For there was none greater By Myself I have sworn And I cannot fail By Myself I have sworn It’s not up to you Just believe in My Word Trust in My Love Believe in the Goodness That comes from above you It is there for your taking Sin can’t keep Me from giving But only stops your believing That I want you to have Every spiritual blessing Already there By Myself I have sworn Believe Me By Myself I have sworn Trust Me By Myself I have sworn Love Me Love me as I have loved you prophetic word by Darlene 7/14/07 |
