The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it. Psalm 68:11

Why do the nations rage? (Psalm 2)

Why do the nations rage?
Why do they plot in vain?
Why do they come together?
What do they hope to gain?
“Let us bring division-So they cannot stand
Then we’ll have all power
As we take over all your land”
He who sits in the heavens
Laughs a hearty laugh
Yet His voice shall cause displeasure
Nations will feel His wrath
But to those whose eyes are on Him
Rejoice with Him and Sing
For you know that out of Zion Comes your Groom, your King!
Make yourselves ready !
The kingdoms plot a vain thing
Against the Lord’s annointed
Against the Coming King
Make yourselves ready!
For Him alone do you yearn?
Before The Glory comes
The fire burns
So I will prophesy the decree
The Lord has spoken to me
“Ask and I will give You
The nations as Your reward
Break them with an iron rod
Rule them by the sword
Dash them into pieces
Bring valleys high and mountains low
Oh kings and judges of the earth
What have you now to show?
Kiss the Son lest He be angry and you perish in the way
Burn up your worthless idols
Before the approaching Day
Serve the Lord with fear and trembling
Rejoice! Oh barren! Sing!
For fire comes before His Glory
And prophets before the King
His ministers are as flames of fire

Preparing the way for the King”

Much sadness is in the world right now.  Hatred, division, fear, terror, panic.  Everyone wants to know what is going on. Many are quick to blame.
Many blame police officers. Many blame black-skinned brothers and sisters.  Others blame white folks and their privilege. Still others blame the President. Republicans blame Democrats. Democrats blame Republicans.

Blaming roars as a wildfire, but fueling blame is the enemy of our souls that has been able to convince us that we alone are right and superior to others.

The nature of the enemy is to divide and conquer.  Before division comes, there must be that superiority. Humility does not bring division, it brings unity.  Superiority brings division, and hatred and blame.

So who or what is to blame?  There is one we cannot see.  One who stirs strife and hatred among peoples and nations.  We are dangerously guilty by buying into it and agreeing first to superiority, which fuels the division.

A nation divided against itself cannot stand.  (Mark 3:24)   We are still one nation under God whether we like it or not, but indivisible?  When we turned our backs on Him we were able to be divided into fragments.

It would be a good thing to humble yourselves now. It’s okay to be a little person who only influences a few.
