The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it. Psalm 68:11

Resting Between His Shoulders; Our Peace

He Is Our Peace

He is Our Peace

He has broken the wall that had divided us all

And His government shall increase He is Our Peace

The whole world’s crying out for peace

Hear the cries for peace and safety

Soon the Lord is gonna come as a thief In the night

A new world order they demand

For bringing peace upon our land

Thinking this is what we all need To set things right

But unto us a child is born

Unto us a Son’s been given

And the government will be upon His shoulders

There is no true peace among men

Til we first know the Peace that’s within

And He is called Mighty God, the Everlasting Father

The Prince of Peace

Jesus is our Peace

Jesus is our Peace

He has broken the wall that had divided us all

And His government shall increase

He is our Peace

One day this song came to me while I was scrubbing a floor, praying about what peace means.   The Berlin wall had just been knocked down and we rejoiced in the new found freedom in Germany.   But, I wondered, was this real peace?

The systems of this world are the gods of our land.  When the systems topple, those who put their hope in the systems will become fearful, and topple with them.

The systems of this world are falling today, as we even see in current events, bringing chaos and confusion.

But He is our Peace.

There is too much news – most is fake, or slanted in the direction of one or the other party.

But He is our Peace.

Many voices have gone out into the world, proclaiming they have the word of the Lord.   Confusion.

But He is our Peace.

Friendships seem to be getting strained.  Maybe that is why Paul said “I am determined to know nothing among you except Christ and Him crucified.”  What is Christ doing in your life?  Are you in love with Him?  Paul is looking for fruit, not looking for sin.

But He is our Peace.

And the government will be upon His Shoulders.

Let me tell you about those shoulders.

I had a condition once called, Frozen Shoulder”.  It was extremely painful.  I have never experienced as much pain in my body as I had with this.  I begged for surgery and I received it.

While I experienced this, I heard the Lord whisper “I held my weight up on the cross by My shoulders.”

When I thought of this, I realized this is absolutely correct.  He could not have held His weight up by His hands.   They were nailed.    It was all laid upon His shoulders.

The weight of our sin was placed upon His shoulders.

And the governments will be upon His shoulders too.

We need to rest between those shoulders.

They are strong.
