Psalm 38 16 For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me,
Lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.”
Vs 17 For I am ready to fall,
And my sorrow is continually before me.
Vs 18 For I will declare my iniquity;
I will be in anguish over my sin.
Psalm 68:1 Let God arise,
Let His enemies be scattered;
Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
Vs 2 As smoke is driven away,
So drive them away;
As wax melts before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
Vs 3 But let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.
Psalm 98: 1 Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
2 The Lord has made known His salvation;
His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
This morning I woke up and like immediately started feeling a cloud of turbulence around me. Things that need to be done, things that I forgot to do, and not feeling well. To get my new pool up and running will take more time and effort and dollars than I originally thought. My stomach feels queasy. Today is election day and I need to get to the polls before work but oh no! I forgot to put my clothes in the dryer.
That was just the first half hour.
Last week we had an unexpected expense of $402. A few days later we had an unexpected check of $405. Yet we still saw the expense as a loss we needed to try to recover and the check as a blessing we could use for extra things.
As I sit here this morning, and just wait upon the Lord, I am impressed that He is saying to me that neither trials nor tribulations have the final word. Their voice is not the “Amen!” Though we are surrounded by hardships and difficulties which continuously hit us in the face, they do not have the victory.
1). Realize they only have power to wreck your life if you give it to them.
2). Trials and Tribulations and Losses are tools God uses to shape us – sometimes He sends them, sometimes the enemy does, sometimes we open the door – they are still tools
3). They are not the last word, the “Amen!”
4). Remind yourself of His promises and all that He has done
5). Watch Him bring the solution
6). Rejoice
This is simple stuff. But we need a reminder every now and then.
