The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it. Psalm 68:11

David demands Michal

2 Samuel 3: 14 So David sent messengers to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Give me my wife Michal, whom I betrothed to myself for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.”

And Ishbosheth sent and took her from her husband, from Paltiel the son of Laish.

Then her husband went along with her to Bahurim, weeping behind her. So Abner said to him, “Go, return!” And he returned.

David, yes the very same one that God had declared was a man after His own heart, was just anointed King over Judah, and Ishbosheth, son of Saul, was made King over Israel.  Michal, was Saul’s daughter, Ishbosheth’s sister.  David, sent messengers to Ishbosheth, to say “Give me your sister, who is married to Paltiel. She belongs to me now.  Paltiel was weeping at the loss of his bride but he was told to ‘go home.’

What WE think of David, the man, is not the same as what God thinks.  His thoughts are higher than ours.  He is not a respector of persons.  He will use evil and just alike to accomplish His purposes and plans.

Psalm 51 records David’s confession years after his “sins”.   This confession was “against You [God] and You alone”.
