Shining Light on Corruption

I’m excited but with caution. Excited that corruption is being exposed and righteousness is being restored.  Cautious because corruption is being exposed and righteousness is being restored.

This goes along with the blog I wrote earlier “Better Software”…. Light is being shined and darkness is being exposed.  We are seeing what God sees and the time of reckoning is here.

But….

Do I do the same thing in small measure? These Judges are judged for their mishandling of taxpayers funds but the Lord measures how much they have and how much in proportion was mishandled. Like the widow gave more than the rich man when she gave her two mites (cents), because she gave all.

So a victory dance is in order but briefly during this time of exposing corruption in high places. This is really a time of repentance. The Lord is cleaning house.

Psalm 38:18 For I confess my iniquity;
I am full of anxiety because of my sin.

vs 19 But my enemies are vigorous and strong……

Wow.  Ever feel like that???   I am full of anxiety because of what I have done wrong, but my enemies are strong!??   Do they not have sin?  Have they also not done wrong?  Why should they be strong and me, the one who TRUSTS IN YOU GOD, be weak?

Back in 1999, I took a position in a call center that was a wee bit behind in technology.   While other customer service representatives with headsets on their heads were answering calls with a click on their computer screen,  we were still picking up the phone receiver off the phone and using handwritten call back notes, and then left our seat to pass a message along to dispatchers in the warehouse.

We were a fun company.  Strong.  A leader amongst our competitors.  At least that’s what we knew because we didn’t have a very good database of information.  No internet, only Microsoft Office.  No Access or Customer Information stored.   Yet we were strong.

I was not in a position to change the phone system, but I was in a position to have a better record keeping system for myself, which I did on an excel spreadsheet.  Every person that called in, I recorded their name, number, complaint or concern, time of call, whether they needed a follow up call, who they called for, etc etc.  It baffled me when the managers gathered around my desk to see what I was doing.

This sparked those in corporate office to install a new record keeping system.  (Yes I really was credited with helping to create a new, and efficient way to have a call center).

When we added software to our system, we learned we were in trouble.  And over the next few weeks and months, we learned we were in BIG trouble.  We were losing customers and we were losing revenue.  LOTS of revenue.

So what happened?  Did this really just happen or was our perception of our strength skewed because of our poor record keeping system?  We couldn’t see all along but it was a fun company therefore we were doing awesome!  Right?  But when we installed a better system of seeing our growth, profits and losses, it changed things.  We were in trouble all along but acted like we were strong when we weren’t because we couldn’t see clearly.   When light was shone, we saw the real deal and we worked hard for months to make all those necessary changes.  We humbled ourselves to our customers and were able to earn their trust again.

We became stronger when we realized our weakness, but while we appeared stronger in our own eyes, we had no idea that we were actually being taken down by a giant competitor.

We have been given authority to make all necessary changes to our lives so that we will reign over our enemies.  God gave that to us.  We have the authority but we don’t have the means without Him, our Better Software that shines light and helps us to see what we did not see before.   When we are weak HE is strong.

If your enemy is sickness, what is it feeding upon?

If your enemy is anxiety, what is it feeding upon?

Psalm 8:6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet.

vs 7 All sheep and oxen,
And also the beasts of the field,

vs 8 The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,
Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

You have authority over all things that you face today.

But first, you need to see your weakness, and if you are feeling strong apart from Him, you aren’t seeing the reality.

The reality is, your enemy is only as powerful as you think “he” is, and you are only as strong as the weaknesses that are submitted to God.   David humbled himself to confess his sin, which produced anxiety.  He hadn’t yet come to the place of understanding the power of his acknowledgment but he was in the place where we were in our company,
having just seen the reality of our “strength” and started making changes to become less fragile as an organization, more equipped to service our customers and not as arrogant about who we were.  We had come to rely upon the truth of the data.

As we come to rely upon the Truth to shine light upon our own condition, we will see our weakness which is actually the first manifestation of Strength.

Knowing Him

Recently I woke up to the phrase “All Systems Down!”
Now, I knew this was a phrase impressed in my spirit by the Lord,
and it preceeded an event that followed at my workplace at the time.

The company I worked for was a fundraising organization and depended upon
the Laser Color Printer to work because we held many events that required brochures.
This laser printer was connected to our server, which was located in the National Office. When there was a problem with the server,  all systems went down.   This affected all states, and all cities with offices in that state,  and all equipment connected to that one server.
A company can literally be out of commission for a time because of one problem in the server in the National Office except if an office or individual offices buy separate printers which were not connected to the main server.  They would be responsible for
maintaining any printers they purchased, and any cartridges associated.
“All Systems Down!”
I heard this without question.    But this was not for me to fear.    This was for me to prepare.
The Lord said He would conquer nations.  All nations will topple as we get closer to the Day of His return.
“All Systems Down!”
How are nations toppled?
By bringing down,  like the Tower of Babble,  all the systems we’ve built and left Him out of the equation.
Economic System
Educational System
Health Care System (Insurances)
Medical System
Transportation System
Communication System
Political System
Religious System
Nations topple when the gods of our land are destroyed.   These gods are behind our systems.
So what can the believer do?
Well, it’s very easy to say “Cut ties with the systems.”   Easier said than done.  There needs to be a preparation of heart and we need to check our heart to see how much we are tied to the systems.  We make a decision that once we see it,  we allow the Lord to be the Substitute for the systems we hold to.
For example,  if we are dependent upon our economic system,  we must acknowledge that the Lord is our Provider,  “Jehoveh-Jireh”  (which literally means “the Lord will see to it).  That isn’t to say we should not want a strong economy but rather that our life should reflect we are content whether we have one or we don’t.

Instead of INCREASING our food budget,  can we DECREASE it by 1/4 every month or so, and live within those means, trusting the Lord to provide?    Is He truly Jehoveh Jireh in our lives?   Do we believe it?  Do we see HIM?

This should be a child of God’s discovery every day.     Is He really who He says He is?

What about Health Insurance?   It’s a system.  I first received this word above in 2008.  At the time I had health insurance.  It dictated to me which doctor I would see, what diagnosis’ I would receive and whether they would pay.  Certain diagnosis’ could not be given because the treatments offered would not be covered.    And the cost for health insurance was so great that we could only afford for my husband, who received coverage at work, to be covered.

At first, I panicked, but then when I received the word “All Systems Down” and meditated on it, I thought “well just Who IS my Provider?”  and “Who Is my Healer?”   It is the Lord.
Today, I belong to a Christian Share Group, not an insurance company.  We share medical expenses and pray for each other.   It is considered by medical providers to be private pay, so they reduce the cost by 1/2 in many cases.  And my cost per month is 1/3 of what it would have been to cover me by insurance companies.

In addition, I am not limited to whom the Insurance Company says I could see.  There is no network of physicians.  I could see whomever I choose and if the provider I choose prescribes supplements, this will be included in what I receive from the share group.  I am free.   Of course, there are requirements,  some of which are that you lead a healthy lifestyle, free from smoking and excessive drinking, and you attend church regularly.   That shouldn’t be a problem for those who know the Lord is their Healer and Provider.

Go through the list of names that the Lord refers to Himself.  Once a week, write on a journal page, a name of God.   As you do, ask yourself, “Is He that to ME?”  If so,  how does your behavior reflect it?  Ask Him to introduce Himself to you as that name.  Ask to know that name greater than you do presently.   We Christians are so vague with our requests.  “Lord I want to know You, I want to know You more.”   What does that mean?  How will you do it?

Is He Jehovah Shamah? (Ezekiel 48:35)  It means The Lord is Present.  Is Jehovah Shamah Lord of your life?  If not, you won’t know that He is and you might open the door for another to be present.  Let’s take not knowing “He is Present” to the furthest extreme.  If you don’t know Him as “He is Present” there will be fear and panic which leads only to evil doing. (Psalm 37:8 although read the entire psalm on fretting).   Eventually, you may rely upon the government to be there for you, and supply all your needs if Jehovah Jireh is not your Lord.

All these things will topple.  All systems will fall like Domino’s.  You don’t have to fall with them, nor do you need to fear when they fall.   If you have cultivated time with the Lord, in a strategic way,  you will not die when the systems do.

Like the printer in my fundraising organization, we had to get our own printer, using our own funds, maintain it on our own instead of being connected to the national server which was often down.   We were free to be functional.   Don’t be tied to the systems (server).   There will likely be lifestyle changes that need to be made but you belong to the Lord.  Not the systems.

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

Whoever Gets Credit, Gets Glory

Psalm 66:10 For You have tried us, O God;
You have refined us as silver is refined.

vs 11 You brought us into the net;
You laid an oppressive burden upon our loins.

vs 12 You made men ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water,
Yet You brought us out into a place of abundance.

I started tearing up this morning at the word in vs 10 “You have refined me as silver is refined.”

My gut stirred as I hovered here and the next few verses.  I had flashbacks of various people yelling at me while I was teaching one day on the process of silver refining.   The faces turned into the faces of angry lions in my recollections.  What touched their nerves so much?

Before silver is refined, it is subjected to heat by the refiner.  I dared mention that it is plunged into intense heat, not once but many times until the process is completed and the refiner can see his reflection.   Some argued that their God would not plunge them into such intense adversity; that it was indeed the enemy of their souls.

I know this doesn’t come as a welcome message, but the scripture that I read shows the opposite; and it is a RELIEF to know that my God, who is a Refiner, is the one who plunges me.  If the enemy did it, then I have to keep fighting against him.   If the One who loves my soul did it, then I am strengthened by it, even allow it, so that He may look at my life and see His reflection.

YOU brought us into the net (vs 11)  The Lord Himself has led us into a trap for our enemy to find us so that the only One who can save us from ourselves or our situation becomes God.  There are no other resources.  No friend, no skill, no recollection or experience.  Only God.

YOU laid an oppressive burden upon our loins (vs 11) The Lord Himself has laid such oppressive burdens upon our loins that we sometimes cannot stand or else we will strain ourselves.  I know this is not popular but it is HERE.  Yet we struggle to get free, with anti-depressants or other means.  No friend can remove this oppression, no meme can comfort us, no encouraging word is able to lift it.  When the Lord has laid an oppressive burden, only HE can lift it.

YOU made men ride over our heads (vs 12) The ways of arrogance of people who are unable to humble themselves may cause us to curl up in defeat or it may cause us to question what is wrong with ourselves.  The Lord has sent them.  The Lord has used the arrogance of people to correct everything we do and say; to shout in offense; to insult.  Why?  So that we will humble ourselves and become strong in the midst.  Steven, one of the first deacons of the new church in Acts, was able to praise the Lord while being stoned to death.  Did he acquire that strength overnight?

YET you brought us into an abundant place (vs 13).  The Lord inflicts us and heals us so that NOBODY ELSE WILL GET CREDIT.   He will use your enemy but He gave the command.  He brings you to an abundant place; a place of freedom, a place of being able to run and dance and sing and play, but only when you understand that it was He that has led you through the valley of the shadow of death.

Your enemy doesn’t care if he got credit for the infliction.  He knows that your eyes off God will cause you to change your strategy and keep on fighting against him in your own strength.

The Lord inflicts.  But the Lord also delivers.   The Refiner subjects the silver to intense heat, not as a means of punishment which comes after a wrong-doing, nor as a means of discipline which indicates behavior modification.  He does not subject us to intense heat of wrath but out of love for the finished product.

The Refiner doesn’t order an enemy to sit and plunge the silver into the fire but He Himself sits there and plunges it in, and He doesn’t stop until He sees His reflection.

It is the act of the Refiner.

Whoever gets the credit gets the glory.

Evil shall Slay the Wicked

Psalm 34: 21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous will be condemned.

vs 22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.

“Never interrupt your enemy while he is making a mistake.”   Sun Tzu, The Art of War

This is brilliant strategy when thinking about the wrongs someone has done to you.   If the wrong was sent by the evil one, it is because evil is in that one’s heart and will bring that one down.   If the wrong was by someone you love, who is influenced by thoughts of the enemy,  but they belong to the Lord, the Lord will not condemn them but discipline them.

Either way, if you have been wronged, don’t let bitterness grow in your own heart.  Get rid of it now.

Lest evil slay you.
