Mark 7:15 there is nothing outside the man which can defile him if it goes into him; but the things which proceed out of the man are what defile the man.
One day, in a little modest room in a little modest castle, Princess Darlene sat reading the scriptures and came upon this verse, when all of a sudden, she froze!
“Stop right here, m’lady” said the Voice.
So she stopped right there and just meditated.
The Voice directed her then to another verse.
Genesis 2:15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. 16 The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
From any tree. But one. From any tree. But one. Only one can defile.
Okay, I just felt like writing the above the way I did, but it wasn’t a fairy tale. This is exactly how the Lord gave me one of the greatest NATURAL truths using scriptures that mean spiritual things. I would never teach the word this way, because it is not meant to be taught that way, however, when we ask for guidance from the scripture, how else will He speak to us directly about our particular situation or issue if we don’t discern His voice through the reading of His word?
As a holistic nutritionist, I see in His Word how the body processes things.
First, we look at the scripture above – it is not what goes into a person that defiles them, but what comes out. Some translations refer to what comes out as “what comes from the mouth” or “what comes from the heart”. A nutritionist sees just “what comes out”.
Whether from the mouth, the heart or the backside, we judge what is defiled by what comes out. Not what goes in.
How is it then, that person “A” can eat gluten, while person “B” must stay away? Or person “A” can drink milk, while person “B” must avoid? Person “A” can eat beans, while person “B” cannot come within a foot of them.
Why? It is because of how we process what we take in. It is not the hotdog but how we process the hotdog. It is not the alcohol even, but how we process the alcohol.
And yet, eating one pizza is not going to defile us, but eating a lot of pizza over many years, will cause our processing system to lack discernment. And when that happens, what comes out smells foul.
Eating is processing. Eating is digesting.
But look at Eve’s response to Satan when they have their first conversation:
Genesis 3: Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from [a]any tree of the garden’?” 2 The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.’”
We know from our earliest reading of scripture, that Eve added to what God had said. She added “you shall not touch”. We know that God did not say “You shall not touch.”
He knows we are going to touch. He uses these times as teaching moments… maybe. It is not an issue til it is. We are not defiled til we process it until we are no longer able to and IF we are no longer able to.
Spiritually speaking, I am NOT condoning sin. My point in all of this, is, that ALL GOD’s CREATION IS GOOD. However, whether or not we process it rightly, determines how and what comes out.
So in eating, strive to eat GOOD, ORGANIC WHOLE, FOOD, unprocessed and free of inorganic harmful pesticides, so that we can learn to process it ourselves, and while we learn what is good, we should not beat ourselves up in the TOUCHING of it or the occasional eating.
It is not the food we eat that defiles us, but how we process the food we eat. And it isn’t the food we eat that makes us clean, but also how we process. And if we want good, undefiled 💩, we need to be sure that our processing center (digestive system) is able to process what we take in. The less a food is processed, the better able we are to build our processing muscles.
(Spiritually speaking, getting revelation from Papa while reading the word is like eating whole, unprocessed food. Not many are able. They want it hot, they want it now, they want it juicy, but they will never be able to process food on their own this way. ) If at first, you enjoy going to the movies, but after awhile you notice that movies affect your ability to discern what is good and wholesome, right and wrong, then that is the time you notice it is affecting how you process and at that point, you must decide to avoid. However, I know a person who hears the Lord speak through movies and it does not affect His discernment but helps him discern. If eating wheat has never been a problem for you, it does not affect digestion, then avoidance of wheat is not going to make a difference for you and you are free to enjoy. But if eating wheat affects you; if you find you bloat, have gas, or your metabolism changes, then you might want to consider avoiding it because your ability to process foods are affected.
It’s not about the food you choose or avoid, it is about whether that food strengthens your ability to process. I know they ate seeds and herbs in the garden, but Genesis 9 says He gave us meat. Romans 14 says some are meat eaters and others are vegetable eaters and each one stands before the Lord as to our choices. And this makes it harder for many, because we want a black and white answer as to what is good to eat and why.
We have to hear the Lord’s voice for ourselves and we have to know our bodies. It requires us to learn to process and not have it all cut up into easily digestible pieces. I know plenty of people who eat seeds, nuts and legumes and enjoy very good health. I know plenty of people who cannot have seeds, nuts and legumes because of the lectins in them and they cannot digest them well. Don’t get fooled into thinking it is about the lectins. It isn’t. It’s about the processing.
Whether you process thought, or process food, you cannot process or discern if what you take in is continually processed for you or if it has impacted you adversely.
It’s ALL ABOUT THE PROCESS. TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROCESS.
