Are you hungry for Me? Are you thirsty? Do you feel that you are not home, even though you sit in your own house? Are you lonely when there are many people around you? You spend countless hours entertaining others on social media because you get a dopamine rush with every like and heart and comment. You read and read and read all kinds of articles but cannot process books. You write in social media shorthand and cannot fathom a letter to a friend, or an email. You watch hours of short Tik Tok reels but cannot sit through an hour in My presence.
It’s all processed food because you have lost your ability to process for yourselves.
Was that not My hand on the door waiting to enter but you were already tired? Was I not waiting here for you this morning but you had too many messages to read? Too many headlines that got your attention? It’s all processed information for your dopamine rush.
What do you speak about your brothers and sisters? Are you quick to comment on their rudeness? Are you quick to be offended? What offends you? Why? What about your husband or your wife? Was that not anger already in your own heart that needed to be released? What do you say about them in joke to your friends for your dopamine rush? The laughter? It was all in joke, you say, but was your spouse laughing? Was I?
Feel good dopamine rushes are not my Spirit speaking to you, however, your neurons and synapses will respond with joy when I do. It isn’t the information that I am keeping you from, but it is your need for fast information that keeps you from hearing My word. It isn’t the audience that I am keeping your from, it is your need for an audience that keeps you from Me. It isn’t My presence that I am withholding, but it is your need to get out of perceived loneliness fast that keeps you from sensing I am with you.
It is imperative you turn from these ways today. Stop taking in information everywhere! This is eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It is good for your eyes, and pleasant to your taste buds but it lacks My Spirit. Stop looking for approval from laughter and comments. You will be searching every day and need more and the need to perform will become greater and you will find yourselves without Me. But I will hear the earnest repentance. I will come to the cry for My Presence. I will not withhold.
Take every thought captive and every bit of information you have taken in, every need for a dopamine rush and lay it at My feet. Let Me be the Source of all you desire and have need of. I do not condemn you. I love you. It’s time to turn away and turn back to being still and waiting for Me. I will surely come and speak. I will surely satisfy your longing. I will bring fire.

Psalm 102:6,7
I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl of the desert. I lie awake, and I am like a sparrow alone on the house top.

Psalm 102:17
He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.

A pelican needs water and fish to survive, and thrives near oceans; An owl Is a predator and needs to hunt other animals, needs to nest in trees or rocks and would not survive in an open desert where it can be seen as food.
Sparrows are social birds and gather in colonies or even small groups.

The idea here is the feeling of “way too long.”

My friends, we are in the time of the famine of the HEARING of God’s word. Not a famine of God’s word but a famine of the hearing of God’s word.

Discernment. Only His quickened word satisfies. Only His quickened word provides. A quickened word is a word that is illuminated in our hearts from Him, whether by meditating on Him alone or by reading the scriptures.

Amos 8:11 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord God,
“When I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,
But rather for hearing the words of the Lord.
