The Lord gave the word; great was the company of those who proclaimed it. Psalm 68:11

Break the Cycle

Increased insulin causes insulin resistance which requires us to signal the release of more insulin by eating more sugar. The more sugar we eat, the more insulin we trigger; the more insulin we trigger, the more our body adapts to the higher insulin level therefore builds tolerance requiring more.

This is the same for antibiotics. The more we take to kill bacteria, the more resistant we become to antibiotics. The more resistant we become, the more we need because bacteria is no longer overcome by simple smaller doses.

The same is true for drugs/medication.
Ever wonder why they don’t seem to work any longer? The body is geared towards homeostasis and that means balance.

The same thing is true for anything we become comfortable with. If it no longer is working, more is needed. If we are in a habit of spending $10 more than we make every week, eventually we will spend more because “it’s only $10 extra” and we find ways to justify it, obtaining credit cards or taking out loans to make sure we continually spend more than we make. And the cycle continues.

The same is true for sanity. If we keep doing the same thing over and over again, because it worked for awhile, we have to increase more of the same to produce the original effect.

The same is true for religion. If we keep doing organized, corporate church, thinking we are pleasing God, we will have to keep doing more of the same to produce the same original effect.

Rasputin didn’t start out to be an evil man. He started out as a man who loved God but also had a hidden sin. Sexual sin. Yet he continued to repent and felt so good after his repentance…. but that repentance was only superficial. He didn’t break the cycle. So he still craved sexual activity. His cycle of forbidden sexual activity followed by repentance continued until he could no longer feel the feeling of forgiveness for his sin, so he increased his sin to the point of being repulsed by it, enough to bring his repentance back to the original place where he could feel forgiven when he sinned. But he didn’t break the cycle, so his sexual sin turned into orgies then murder…

Break the cycle.
Take the axe to the root.
You’re gonna have to deal with it or it will deal with you.

2 Tim 2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,

If God will grant repentance

After awhile, it doesn’t work
