Lord, how my enemies have increased!
Many are rising up against me.
² Many are saying of my soul,
“There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah

³ But You, Lord, are a shield around me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Your enemy is not people. Your enemy is Satan. He goes about LIKE A roaring lion (not IS A) seeking to whom he may devour. His names are Lucifer, Adversary, Angel of Light and he is your opponent.

Do you want to know why you keep being attacked? Why do so many rise against you? You say “I must be doing something right.” “I must be a threat to the enemy’s camp.”

The Lord says you are not hidden. Your enemy is able to discover your disposition!

How?

Because you tell him!

Definition of disposition

1a : prevailing tendency, mood, or inclination

b : temperamental makeup

c : the tendency of something to act in a certain manner under given circumstances

The discovering of your disposition is not the time when attack comes. It is what comes beforehand. Your enemy lies in wait. He discovers. He studies. He takes note. He comes at an opportune time. It is almost certainly when you are not expecting.

Who you like on facebook! Check!
Who you heart! Check!
All your rants! Check!
Who you support! Check!
Your newsfeed shares! Check!
The places you check in! Check!
Who you let in as “friend”! Check!
When you are seen as active. Check!
When you are noticed as “in the chat”! Check!

Those are obvious. But he uses other things too.
The FB Factcheckers. They may mean nothing to you, but they are used by the enemy because it is still recorded what you deleted after it was texted. As you type it out then backspace to remove. What you send then unsend.

Then, you speak something without posting it, and it appears in your newsfeed. THEN it appears in your email inbox having nothing to do with social media at all.

“But though oH Lord art a shield for me!”

Why would you need a shield if you are giving your disposition away?

1 John 3:7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; ⁸ the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

You need a shield when you have an enemy who wants to take you down. You do not need a shield if you are walking right into his camp and saying
“Here I am!”

You are in warfare. Like it or not. It is what you signed up for when you enlisted.
