Word of the Lord given to me this morning, February 2, 2017

I have sent you on a treasure hunt, where, if you search diligently, you will find extraordinary wealth and value. You will dis-cover what is hidden if you set your heart to find it. Every dis-covery, every un-covering, will increase your strength, wisdom, growth, and knowledge of Me and will tangibly provide for your children and your children’s children.

My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you,
so that you incline your ear to wisdom in your heart to understanding,
if you seek her as silver-
And search for her as hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-6

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, where thieves break in and steal.
Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in period for where your treasure is there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

Word of the Lord to me this morning. February 1, 2017

I have brought you into a spacious place, a wide place, so that you do not have to be mindful of things in your way. I want you free from clutter; clutter in your home, clutter in your mind and clutter in your agenda.

How can you keep eyes upon me if your space is occupied by things that add no value to your life? You call out for more of My Spirit but you put obstacles in My way. You cry for deliverance but evil lurks behind the clutter you allow.

Go through your homes. Remove what no longer has value. Take inventory of your thoughts. Accept the ones that give Me access to move. Forgive any wrongs done to you today. Do not wait.

I gave you a spacious place because I want to move through you in the dance.

Psalm 18:19-He brought me out into a spacious place, he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Psalm 31:7, 8- you have known my soul in adversity, and have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy. You have set my feet in a wide place.

2 Samuel 22:20-He has brought me out into a broad place. He delivered me because he delighted in me.

1 Chronicles 4:10 and Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “oh that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me and that you would keep me from evil, that I would not cause nor be in pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

A Word for 2017

I used to put out a word every new year but stopped in recent years because they would get lost in the sea of words supposedly from the Lord for the coming year.  Yet I would still ask Him for one.  Why?  Because it’s what I do.  I need to hear from Him. I need to see Him. I need to walk with Him.  I need His wisdom and guidance. I’m not infallible. I can be deceived when my eyes and ears are not focused on Him.  And usually when they are not, that is when I turn to everyone else’s word that is supposed to be from Him.  Some are, some are not so much, and some are, but just not for me.

So, how do we know?  How do we know which word is really from the Lord?  And which are for us?  There are so many.

I went to Matthew 24 and 25 today.  In 24:3 Jesus’ disciples asked what is the sign of your coming and the end of the age?  The FIRST thing Jesus says is “Take heed no one deceive you.”

Matthew 24: 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.

That is the FIRST thing you need to guard your heart against.  Verse 11 also says that false prophets will arise. (vs 11)

So, how can we be sure we know the truth?

I believe the answer is in Matthew 25.  The  wise and foolish virgins.

Matthew 25:1  “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

Matthew 25: 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming;  go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

Matthew 25:11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’

Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

So this will be short.  You will need to start getting your own words, hearing from the Lord yourself, looking at prophets and teachers for CONFIRMATION and only for encouragement. SOMETIMES.

If you don’t keep your eye on the Bridegroom and prepare to get your own oil, you will not have any.

Amos 8:11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the Lord.

12 They shall wander from sea to sea,
And from north to east;
They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord,
But shall not find it.

You do NOT want to hear ever “Get your own oil” although that is what you need to do.  By the time you hear it, the door will be closed.

Well Done

I am a woman of many talents.  I can sew, I can cook, I can clean, I can write, I can make herbal medicine, I can dream, I can prophesy, I can sell, I can encourage, I can work well with others.   I can do many things. In fact, I can do so many things that I often do not finish what I have started because shortly after starting something, I’m on to something else.

A few weeks back, I was looking at my saved items on the computer.  I have a LOT of writings.  I’ve been writing since 1976 and most of what I’ve written gets saved for later.  So I started looking at them again.  Each one taking me back to a place I had forgotten or vaguely remembered.  It was absolutely amazing to me that I had all that tucked away in one little laptop.

Over the last few months, I’ve been recovering from foot surgery.  It’s not major surgery, I know, but it has had major effects on my life.  I cannot remember the last time I was off my feet for so long.  I’ve only known to do things.  Now my parents might have told you that I often sat on the couch when I was younger but even then, I was doing something.  I was thinking or writing.

I went into my room, the little room that I was going to fix up last year but, again, I had been so busy with work and school that I barely had time to finish it up.  I started it.  Shelves are put up on the wall and book shelves are lined with books.  I organized a curio cabinet, and some drawers. I still have a lot of “mess” on the floor that needs to find a home.

But, I could not be on my feet much, so that project will have to be put off until I could be stable again.  At least it sounded like a good plan.

I wanted the Lord to say to me “Well done, good and faithful servant.  You were faithful in a few things, I will put you in charge of many.  Enter into the joy of your Master.”  I was recently put in the position of project manager of our up and coming (w)holistic addiction recovery group (or W.A.R.).  I like the sound of that.  When I go to the meeting I get to say I’m going to W.A.R. and I’m going to the W.A.R. Room.   I felt like that was a kind of well done… yet… I don’t know why I’d get a well done…  my business ended abruptly due to the foot surgery, I don’t have a thriving nutrition business, I can’t walk, I cant afford liability insurance for product making, and I thought “What did I do to get a well done?”

One day, I was feeling stuck.  I can’t explain stuck, except just stuck.  Like my feet were stuck in tar.  I couldn’t just get up and do anything.  I was stuck.  So I started looking through my kindle collection of all the books I’ve saved…. it was amazing how many books I have on kindle and in my room.  I have not read most of them but I buy them “just in case I have time to read them.”  Well that had to change because now I had all the time in the world.

I decided to start with the shortest books first and at least devote a few hours a day to reading.  One book, Given to Forgive, by Cheryl Stasinowski, popped out at me.  Did I want to read another book on forgiveness?  Yes. I wanted to read the book by Cheryl since I’ve known her for a long time.  It was also a short book.  And I’m quite certain I don’t know everything there is to know on the subject.

As I started to read, my eyes became like a waterfall.  I actually was surprised that something was being dug up in me on forgiveness.  Did I have to forgive anyone?  I didn’t think I needed to.  Yet person after person came to my thoughts as I read all the way through.  How do you like that?  I didn’t even realize it because I had buried the thoughts of whatever it was they did to me oh so long ago.

One by one, these people from my past flashed before my watery eyes and I had to say I forgave them and released them back to the Lord.  That was good.  I didn’t know I had stress from holding onto them but our body holds on and it causes stress.

I had enrolled in a class on making body butters and creams last year.  It was a hard class because it was not just about making a product.  It was about understanding the components and constituents of every oil and butter out there and knowing its properties and their applications.  It would make me fall asleep.  The class was a go-at-your-own-pace class so I kind of ended up putting it off, shoving it out of the way like I did most things when I found something more interesting to do.  After all, a woman of many talents and a lot of curiosity has no time for boredom.  I had paid for this class however, and it was only good for one  year.  That year end was coming up on February 1 and I needed to take 2 tests, make 3 products and write a term paper in order to get certified.

So, that is what I did.  Each day, I focused on making finishing this class a priority.  Today, I finished that class and await my certification.

I also pulled out a manuscript that I began in January 2014.  It was about harmful chemicals that creep into our tap water, food and household products.  There was so much work that needed to be done if it were to be completed.  Today, January 9, marks the 2nd anniversary of the chemical spill in Charleston, WV, which was the idea behind my writing the book. In a few days it will be two years since I began it.  I started working on it to bring it to completion.  In a few days, the anniversary of when it began, is when it will be ready for publication.

I could feel it.  I could feel I was getting unstuck.  Starting with forgiveness.  I had buried all those people and it was causing a traffic jam of energy inside me.   And then, I completed my class.  And then, I completed the book.

Little by little, the traffic jam that was causing stress inside (evidenced by a blood test revealing my body to be 80% acidic causing metabolic acidosis) was moving again.  Roadblocks were removed. My body’s ph for the last few days has been alkaline, not acidic.   The ph tape used to show up, morning after morning and night after night, yellow.  Now, every other day it is green.  (Yellow for caution and green for go?)

I went back to the scripture verse in Matthew where the Lord says “Well done”..

Matthew 25: 14 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

20 “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

24 “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’

26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest.28 Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

29 ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Friends, we’ve always read this as money.  But this says talents.

Burying your talents in the sand, or in my case, my writings in the computer, or people needing my forgiveness,  causes us to be stuck in a traffic jam that produces stress, that produces illness and eventually disease (Dis-Ease).   There can be no joy when you are burying what God has given you.

You have been given 1000 or more talents to do something with.  Don’t be concerned about who will see them or where you will put them.  Just do something.  If you don’t do anything, you will be stuck and it will take an enormous amount of energy to get unstuck.  You may lose your joy, you may become ill and you won’t know why.  You’ll keep asking for prayer over this and not understand why God is not responding to your prayer when the answer is that you have buried your talents.  Or your hurts.

Burying them is equal to being an unprofitable servant.  How can you be profitable if you are stuck?

If you want to hear Well Done good and faithful servant, it won’t  be because of all the wonderful things you have done or the great person you are.  It will be about what have you done with what you have been given.  If you know God has given you something, don’t bury it and do some other good thing and think God is pleased.

Keep a short account with Him. He is pleased with you finishing what you have started and getting your head out of the sand.

It Was Not the Season for Figs

The Cursed Fig Tree

12-14As they left Bethany the next day, he was hungry. Off in the distance he saw a fig tree in full leaf. He came up to it expecting to find something for breakfast, but found nothing but fig leaves. (It wasn’t yet the season for figs.) He addressed the tree: “No one is going to eat fruit from you again—ever!” And his disciples overheard him.

15-17They arrived at Jerusalem. Immediately on entering the Temple Jesus started throwing out everyone who had set up shop there, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of the bankers and the stalls of the pigeon merchants. He didn’t let anyone even carry a basket through the Temple. And then he taught them, quoting this text:

My house was designated a house of prayer for the nations;

You’ve turned it into a hangout for thieves.

It wasn’t yet the season for figs.  Doesn’t Jesus’ cursing the tree sound unreasonable?  Even that he expected fruit when it wasn’t ready to produce fruit?   Wasn’t it just doing what it was supposed to do? I mean it appeared to have a full head of leaves!

2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.”

Be prepared in season and out of season.  The Church model, or the Temple model, will cause us to be a marketplace instead of a place where prayer is offered.  But a gathering of believers who assemble together to seek the Lord, to pray, to worship all through the week is a house of prayer for all nations and prepares the church, the Bride, to be ready in season and out of season.

The fruit of abiding in Him is being ready when the hungry come.

I really feel a stirring in my heart on this.  One day, I was picking up my husband from work.  It was 5:30 on a Monday and a man of the street asked us to “get him outta here.”   I asked him “where is here?”  and he said “Alcohol! Get me outta here”

My husband and I stayed with him, prayed with him and brought him to a church around the corner (VCA) where Kim Hager from the House of Prayer was leading worship, and Abner Suarez was preaching.   We were ready.  They were ready. That night.

That man is still free of alcohol two years later.

Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.  35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,

36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

People will be hungry at all hours – probably not on Sunday morning, or Wednesday night.   But at 5:30 on a Monday night.

Or 3 a.m. on a cold, rainy Thursday morning.

The above was written in 2011 but last night I saw something else.

Mark 11:11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

My house was designated a house of prayer for the nations;

You’ve turned it into a hangout for thieves.

Vs 12-14 about the fig tree not producing fruit is sandwiched between Jesus going into the temple and looking around.  He went in, looked around then came out and told his disciples he was hungry and the tree did not produce any fruit although it appeared to have a full head of leaves.

Figs are powerful cleansers.  Eat enough and they will purge you with diarrhea.  That Jesus came in and purged the temple after he cursed the fig tree is indicative of many of our churches today that are dying.  One of my customers called a church she grew up in in Arizona to ask them to look after her mother occasionally, for she was frail.   (My customer is from WV and cannot look in).   The churches response was “We are dying, we cannot help”.

 The~Lord~Will~See~To~It..More than a Promise~ It’s His Name

Through various examples this week regarding the difference between the poverty spirit and the poor in spirit I felt the Lord lead me into this on the Provision and the Promises  of God. I’d taken the name for granted,  the Name of Jehovah-Jireh… (or Yehovah Yireh)….I took it for granted because of the song.

“Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider, His grace is sufficient for me, for me, for me… Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider, His grace is sufficient for me… My God shall supply all my needs, according to His riches in glory, He will give His angels charge over me, Jehovah Jireh cares for me, for me, for me…Jehovah-Jireh cares for me..” “And His name is The-Lord-Will-Provide”…(Gen 22:14)

Jehovah is “The Lord” and Jireh is “Will Provide”… yet the Strong’s concordance barely mentioned the word “provide.”

It said “The Lord will see to it”

The literal Hebrew is “The-Lord-Will-See-To-It”….

                      It wasn’t just a promise.

                       It was His name!

He introduced Himself by that name on MT Moriah. Here is where Abraham was told by the Lord that he was to sacrifice his only son as a burnt offering. I know you know the story. But the interesting thing is… Moriah actually means in Hebrew “Seen by Jehovah”…

raw-aw’ H7200
(God will provide a ram- from Gen 22:8)
A primitive root; to see, literally or figuratively (in numerous applications, direct and implied, transitively, intransitively and causatively): – advise self, appear, approve, behold, X certainly, consider, discern, (make to) enjoy, have experience, gaze, take heed, X indeed, X joyfully, lo, look (on, one another, one on another, one upon another, out, up, upon), mark, meet, X be near, perceive, present, provide, regard, (have) respect, (fore-, cause to, let) see (-r, -m, one another), shew (self), X sight of others, (e-) spy, stare, X surely, X think, view, visions.

yeh-ho-vaw’ yir-eh’ H3070 (Jehovah Jireh- The Lord will Provide- from Gen 22:14)
From H3068 and H7200; Jehovah will see (to it); Jehovah-Jireh, a symbolical name for MT. Moriah: – Jehovah-Jireh.

And said, By Myself have I sworn, saith the LORD (Gen 22:16)

And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old,and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram;and, lo, a horror of great darkness fell upon him.
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; (Gen 15:8-13)

And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. (Gen 15:17)

Deep sleep fell upon Abram and yet AFTER the deep sleep fell upon him…. this is when God spoke to him…. And it was GOD who came down as a smoking furnace and a burning lamp and passed between the pieces.. God made a covenant with Abraham and this covenant was not dependant upon Abraham.

For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself,
Saying, Surely, blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
Wherein, God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie,we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us
(Heb 6:13-18)

Our God took Abraham upon a mountain where it is called “Seen by God”…

We have situations that are as mountains, but these mountains that stand before us are SEEN BY GOD…. and the Lord even says that upon this mountain, upon this BIG MOUNTAIN that we are standing upon and that we face, upon this BIG MOUNTAIN OF GREAT SACRIFICE, He has introduced Himself as The-Lord-Will- SEE-To-It… How will He see to it?

He says that it is by Himself He swears, takes an oath, promises, to see to it. Hebrews tells us that people swear by something greater than themselves…

“God as my witness”
“I swear upon Heaven”

Because nobody swears by anything lower….

“I swear upon the sluggard”

“I swear upon hell”

“I swear to Satan”..

See?  Who does that?

Since God’s promises cannot be dependent upon Him swearing upon anything lower than Himself, His covenant with Abraham was not made with Abraham, but rather Himself,  for it was HE that appeared as the smoking furnace and the burning lamp and walked among the heifer, the ram, the pigeon, the dove, and the goat. He Himself swore by Himself because there was none greater than Himself to swear upon.

That means that when He promises something to us, He will see to it that it is performed. When He promises something to us, we can guarantee it will happen.   He sees our mountain, He also sees to our Provision.
The Lord is the one who provides. It is His name. It is for His Namesake that He will keep His promises.

 He has sworn by Himself.

Hebrews 6:17 again says that we are the heirs of that promise.

We are an heir to that promise. He cannot and will not fail us.

By Myself I have sworn

For there was none greater

By Myself I have sworn

And I cannot fail

By Myself I have sworn

It’s not up to you

Just believe in My Word

Trust in My Love

Believe in the Goodness

 That comes from above you

It is there for your taking

Sin can’t keep Me from giving

 But only stops your believing

That I want you to have

 Every spiritual blessing

Already there

By Myself I have sworn

Believe Me

 By Myself I have sworn

Trust Me

By Myself I have sworn

Love Me

Love me as I have loved you
